Forbidden City Xpress Description:
The grandchild of the original sit-down Forbidden City restaurant in McLean---which has closed---this take-out place with its very few tables keeps the tradition of offering decent, though not spectacular, Chinese fare at reasonable prices. You might quibble over the ma po tofu, for example, wishing it had more meat, chilies, and chopped spring onions. But the kitchen gives customers a tremendous choice, so much so that you wonder if they have the space to store and cook it all. House specialties include sesame chicken and the ubiquitous General Tso's chicken, plus Peking duck, lobster in ginger sauce, and salty crispy shrimp.
