Eurasia Cafe Description:
As if spanning two continents weren't enough, Monday is Latin Night at Eurasia, begun when regulars asked chef Meredith Adams if she could do Central- and South American-accented dishes. Now specials such as ceviche, frozen gazpacho with melons and coconut milk, and black bean and goat cheese chimichanga can be had with the usual menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrées, including a seam-busting Mediterranean wrap and beef tenderloin with soy-sesame béarnaise and wasabi mashed potatoes. The place is small and casual enough (40 seats and a bar) for such flexibility. The name is a carryover from the prior occupant, anyway. Adams's cooking has a fresh, flavorful style and features local and organic products, like fried Eastern Shore oysters in Old Bay beurre blanc. The fact that the café is connected to the wine shop PJ Baggan means that there is not only a neat and tidy wine list, but also a "walk-in" wine list with any bottle available plus a $10 corkage fee. A second location is in Richmond.
