Basha Lounge Description:
Decent Middle Eastern and Moroccan food at reasonable prices makes this Kentlands destination a go-to restaurant. Besides, the décor is lush, and if you time it right, you can catch a belly dancer or a male vocalist on certain nights. Of course, the main draw is the chef's Moroccan cuisine, starting with a special harrira soup or a creamy lentil soup spiked with Moroccan spices. Don't skip the appetizers, several of which pair the house hummus with grilled chicken, lamb or merguez sausage. While several of the entrées sound more Italian than Moroccan---such as the pasta marinara---the kitchen does specialize in b'stillas (meat cooked in a phyllo crust) in a chicken, seafood or vegetarian option, as well as the steamed couscous served with a selection of meat toppings. And don't forget the spiced lamb cooked with raisins and almonds, a food-lover's treat. To end the meal, we suggest the baklava.
