Solaia Description:
Solaia exudes a warmth and intimacy conducive to leisurely wining and dining. The underground space, composed of closely arranged, simple wooden tables created from crates bearing the imprint of the fine wines they kept, and coordinating chairs, along with blackboards indicating wine selections, almost compels diners to sit and linger, sampling the extensive wines by the glass while enjoying the Italian cuisine. Pair the fruity Chilean Sauvignon Blanc from Casa Lapostolle and the Maine diver scallops served with a roasted purée of spinach. The crisp, clean tartness of the white wine complements the slightly sweet and aromatic flavors of the scallops.
