It is the son of one of the five namesake (and logo-depicted) brothers who runs this store now, but the essence as a family corner store and coffee shop couldn't be more true. Heriberto Paez Jr. makes coffees 12 hours a day, six days a week, while his wife and other relatives work the small, back kitchen churning out Cuban sandwiches (egg and cheese, mixed meat, roast pork, palomilla steak, fried grouper). While waiting for your sandwiches or daily specials (picadillo, ropa vieja, beef stew), peruse the shelves of the small grocery store, stocked with Key West souvenirs like canned guava paste, chorizo sausage, dominos, and violet cologne.
