Big Rock Brewery and Chop House Description:
Nestled into a beautifully preserved, 1931 railroad station, this meat-centric restaurant exudes the vibe of a plush hunting lodge in the Colorado Rockies. The main dining room, with its vaulted ceiling, cozy upholstered booths, animal-motif lamp shades and wild animal sculptures, is just one of a number of seating areas designed to disguise the restaurant and in-house brewery's size. Upstairs is an equally plush cigar and martini bar with big leather sofas and its own menu of dishes prepared tableside, including steak Diane and fettuccine Alfredo. Side dishes are huge and sharable, including roasted garlic and white cheddar mashed potatoes, a platter of onion rings and a half-pound of steamed asparagus. The place was named for the huge boulder that marks the spot on the corner of S. Eton and Maple Roads.
