Greek Islands Description:
This downtown Birmingham hangout is where high school kids meet before a movie and crowd into booths; families do the same, and couples grab the two-person booths that run down the center of the room. Noise levels are a notch below booming and everyone seems to be having a great time as plates-full of fries, Coney Island hot dogs slathered in chili and giant shakes fly out of the kitchen. We recommend the Greek Islands Special salad served with grilled, buttery pita bread. Others to grab: the gyro platter, spinach pie or broiled shish kebab. Homemade rice pudding provides a good ending.
