Rio Mar Seafood Description:
For a long time Rio Mar was one of the few standout restaurants in the Warehouse-Arts District. Now that the neighborhood is filled with good restaurants, Rio Mar still stands out. That has much to do with the deft touch of chef Adolfo Garcia, who has since opened other fine restaurants in the area, but this is his anchor. Look for such full-flavored offerings as garlic-steamed mussels with chorizo, and five-hour roasted pork, Latin style. Lunch hour is heavy on tapas, including a Gulf fish escabeche, octopus with paprika, smoked tuna with olives, garlic shrimp and even a selection of pressed sandwiches (try the Spanish muffaletta). The atmosphere is intimate with a European feel, and the acoustics make for nice dinner conversation.
