Whale's Tail Restaurant Description:
Taking full advantage of its location in the Channel Islands Harbor, this wooden seafood house offers wonderful views of the boats in the harbor, the peaceful water, and the mountains in the distance. The shellfish bar upstairs sometimes has live entertainment. Servers will let you sit up here or downstairs in the main dining room. All the tables have good views. Both floors have long bars serving up hard liquor drinks and bottles of wine. Appetizers include platters of seafood either chilled (clams, oysters, shrimp and crab) or hot (crispy calamari, popcorn shrimp and lobster taquitos). The owners are dedicated to natural foods, buying organic when possible and using only sustainably raised or wild-caught fish. The menu lists the origin of each fish, whether it's local waters (swordfish, red snapper, halibut), Alaskan waters (cod) or Scottish (salmon). Lunch has lots of sandwich and salad options, while dinner has more pasta and steak choices.
