Very upscale Champagne, Spirit and Wine Bar. One of best wine selections in the city. Great Goat cheese appetizer.

Dining in a bar no longer implies the liquid lunch and drinks-as-dessert excuse it once did. At Zinc, imbibers and teetotalers alike may elect to start with escargots in garlic butter and Pernod or guacamole prepared tableside---just as it is at Zinc's nearby sister establishment Boudro's; either works with the well-worn floors and exposed brick walls of the space. Working well with lusty reds and elegant whites from the international wine list would be a sandwich of herb-roasted Colorado lamb with peach chutney or larger plates such as Gulf blue crab cakes with tarragon butter or peppered New York strip with home fries and Cognac pan sauce. Pizzas are another possibility, as is a salad with tequila-cured salmon, couscous and arugula. Zinc also offers an extensive list of French bubbles. Much of the action here takes place after other restaurants disgorge their diners.
