Anacapa Brewing Company Description:
A brewmaster oversees production of craft ales in the dozen stainless steel tanks lining the long, narrow dining room. First-timers can order a sampler tray with mini mugs of the available brews which change weekly. Dine inside the 115-year-old building with brick walls and high ceilings or on the patio out front. You might encounter a Santa Rosa Red Ale that's not too bitter, a Pierpont Pale Ale with lots of hops flavor or a sweet, creamy Milk Stout. Hard lemonade, hard cider and beer from other microbreweries are all also available. The eats are mostly casual, with sandwiches, burgers, gourmet pizza and pasta on the menu. But there's also fish 'n' chips, Atlantic salmon, grilled pub steak and pretzel-fried chicken with a mushroom ragoût, not to mention Oaxacan chicken mole and a jambalaya. Keep an eye out for brewmaster dinners that pair five courses of food with five different ales.
