Picano's Restaurant & Lounge Description:
Picano's is the kind of place you love to have in your back pocket when you're entertaining out-of-town visitors. Consistency is a benchmark at this shrine to Italian cuisine where pollo Siciliano, a dish of paper-thin, sautéed-golden chicken with amogio sauce (a kind of Italian-style salsa) is first-rate. Substitute pickerel for the chicken; it's nearly as good. The traditional Italian way is the rule here: entrées are preceded by soup or salad and served with a side of pasta and a selection of warm rolls. We like that you can mix and match pastas and sauces to your appetite's content. Choose from four commercial and five house-made pastas, nine sauces and eight different garnishments. Have linguine with palomino sauce topped with house-made sausage one time and the next, order rigatoni with Alfredo sauce and anchovies. Be forewarned that all pasta dishes are served with light sauce, but additional sauce is available upon request at no extra charge.
