This sophisticated, contemporary restaurant in the Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans draws both locals and visitors, with plate presentations as elegant as the interior décor. The kitchen smartly combines the best of Cajun and Creole cooking, with a traditional Southern theme. If it seems incongruous with the sleek, modern décor, that's half the attraction here. The other half includes such dishes as the pan-roasted striped bass with carrot purée, or the seafood-stuffed crêpe with sage butter. The crispy pan-seared duck breast is complemented with sweet potato gnocchi. The adjacent bar is a happy hour sensation with downtowners who appreciate a well-shaken martini and a tempting bar menu featuring such delights as tempura calamari with Creole sauce, fried oysters Rockefeller and even mini-burgers with barbecue glaze. It's strictly Southern, but 7 on Fulton is as romantic for dinner as it is suited for the most important power lunch.
